FOCUS FORWARD
orient(ai)tion offers a structured way forward: building AI literacy so teams understand what generative AI can and can’t do; aligning leaders and employees on when and why to use it; and identifying pilot projects that genuinely fit your workflows and values.
This isn’t about deploying massive models or automating away entire roles. It’s about learning together, asking sharper questions, and charting a thoughtful course for AI in your work.
In essence, our services aren’t about AI: they’re about you, your work, your organization, and how to be strategic about where, when, and why to use AI.
AI FOUNDATIONS
AI conversations often skip straight to tools, leaving people unsure what’s real, what’s possible, and what’s just hype.
This 90-minute live webinar gives your team a shared foundation of what GenAI is and isn’t, why so many projects fail, and how to evaluate claims with a critical eye. More importantly, we introduce simple frameworks to think about when AI should be used, and what kind of tasks it can actually support.
The value here isn’t technical mastery; it’s literacy and confidence. By the end, participants know how to engage thoughtfully in AI conversations and spot where GenAI might (or might not) fit in their work.
90-Minute Live Webinar
AI LAB 1: Asses & define
This one-day workshop brings leaders and teams together to build shared understanding and clarity around AI’s role in their organization. We begin with foundational AI literacy to demystify what it can and can’t do before mapping current tasks, workflows, and friction points. Through guided collaboration, we surface opportunities, define an aspirational AI vision, and identify where human expertise remains essential.
By day’s end, participants leave with a clear picture of their current state, a draft “AI job description” for the organization, and an actionable vision statement that guides next steps without falling into hype.
The workshop creates alignment across roles and functions, ensuring that AI exploration is guided by collective priorities rather than individual experimentation.
1-Day IRL Workshop
AI LAB 2: Asses, define, ALIGN & PLAN
This two-day session expands on the foundations of AI Lab 1, adding structure, prioritization, and planning for action. After refining your AI vision and stress-testing it against real capabilities, we work through collaborative exercises to align cross-functional teams, set priorities, and outline a roadmap for responsible experimentation.
You’ll leave with clarity on what to do first and why, including a consequence scan, prioritization framework, and an initial pilot plan that translates strategy into measurable progress.
2-Day IRL Workshop
AI PILOT (COMING SOON)
The AI Pilot helps organizations move from theory to practice. We begin by listening: interviewing employees and leaders to understand current use, attitudes, and even shadow experimentation. A light competitive scan reveals how peers are exploring similar tools.
Together, we design and run a scoped GenAI pilot: a real tool applied to your workflows, with clear goals and success measures.
Throughout, we facilitate check-ins, document learnings, and refine the approach. The result isn’t a large-scale rollout; it’s a grounded roadmap, informed by real testing, that shows where to go next and how to upskill your teams.

FAQs
-
Most AI programs focus on tools or technical deployment. Orient(ai)tion is about adoption: building literacy, aligning people, and running small, testable pilots. We focus specifically on generative AI tools and the practical questions of when, why, and how to use them responsibly.
-
Our services are designed for leaders, teams, and organizations who want to explore generative AI without getting swept up in hype. We work with executives, managers, and employees across industries — anyone who needs to understand AI’s potential, align around strategy, and plan pilots.
-
Not at all. The goal of orient(ai)tion is to make AI accessible. We assume little to no technical background, focusing instead on frameworks, collaboration, and practical adoption.
-
AI Foundations is a 60-minute primer that builds shared literacy.
The AI Lab is a one-day workshop that aligns leaders and employees and designs a pilot experiment.
AI Pilot is a four-week guided project where we run a real pilot and create a roadmap for adoption.
Each offering builds on the last, but they also stand alone depending on your needs.
-
No. orient(ai)tion is not about building or training custom models. We focus on identifying the workflows and tasks that can benefit from AI and match them with generative AI capabilities, rather than recommend, evaluate or set up specific tools.
-
You’ll walk away with documented learnings, a defined roadmap, and clear next steps. This includes what worked, what didn’t, and where to go next — whether that’s scaling adoption, refining processes, or investing in upskilling.
-
Because without a shared foundation, organizations risk fragmented adoption: employees experimenting in silos, leaders chasing shiny objects, and customers experiencing inconsistency. Literacy and alignment ensure AI adoption is purposeful, consistent, and less risky.
-
Success is measured against the goals of each pilot — not vague promises of transformation. We help teams define what success looks like (e.g., efficiency, quality, collaboration) and assess results with clarity.
-
Actually, it’s the opposite. Most AI projects fail — not because the technology doesn’t work, but because the organization isn’t aligned on why they’re using it or where it will have the most impact. Teams often waste months (and budgets) experimenting with tools that don’t fit workflows, don’t support business objectives, or even run counter to the company’s values — the very things that attract customers and employees.
orient(ai)tion helps you avoid those traps. By starting with literacy, alignment, and small pilots, we ensure that your AI efforts are purposeful, grounded in strategy, and measured against outcomes that matter. It’s not wasted time; it’s the work that makes every subsequent investment smarter.

I’ve been researching AI appetites and use cases for customer experience across a range of organizations for several years, and am currently guiding AI enablement efforts inside companies today.
Beyond that, I’m actively writing, speaking, and developing frameworks to help organizations navigate this shift responsibly.
What makes orient(ai)tion unique is that it builds on two decades of human-centered design methodology. The same skills that have helped organizations clarify vision, align leaders, and create award-winning digital experiences are now applied to AI adoption.
The tools may be new, but the craft of bringing clarity, alignment, and value is the same — and it’s what makes this work successful.
